T’Mari stood outside the door of Tevik’s quarters, having been bonded as children at the choice of their parents T’Mari had never really felt true love for Tevik. They were pulled together every seven years by the burning of the Vulcan blood, bonding as required to satisfy the mating urge but the union had yet to produce the family that Pon’farr drew Vulcan’s together for. Now she stood outside his door ready to give him the chance that she hadn’t so far given him, to be the mate that their bonding required. Pressing the chime she waited for an answer.
In his quarters, Tevik was putting a few personal items he had brought with him. He had already placed some clothes in the closet when the door chime sounded. Wondering who it could be, he moved quickly to the door and opened it a twinge of emotion flashed across his face. "T'Mari?" he questioned though it wasn't a question of her identity but of here standing before him.
“Tevik” T’Mari nodded offering a smile. “It is agreeable to see you again. May I talk to you?”
"It is most agreeable to see you as well and please come in." He replied stepping aside to allow T'Mari into his quarters.
“Thank you” T’Mari entered pausing inside to let the door close. “Tevik, I owe you an apology. We have met every seven years as Pon’farr demanded, we have spent those meetings as intimate as any couple could, yet I haven’t given you a chance where love has been concerned. I did feel what I thought was love, but it didn’t seem…” she paused unsure how to word it. “It didn’t feel like true love to me, but now you’re here…” she stepped closer. “May I mind meld with you? There is something I need to know.”

"Please have a seat." Tevik answered as he took a seat in the chair opposite her. "Yes, we have been quite intimate and passionate but fleeting. I too wish for more from our relationship and i feel us serving together this is the correct time to pursue this further. "Yes, you may mind meld with me."
T’Mari nodded. Gently reaching out she placed her fingers on his face and temples. “My mind to your mind, my thoughts to your thoughts” she closed her eyes allowing their minds to intermingle looking for the spark of love that she had felt for him before, and wanting to know just how deep his love for her went. She took a few moments before she withdrew their connection looking up into his eyes as she did so. “Thank you” she smiled but this time it was with so much more warmth. “I have missed you, and I would very much like for us to be together.”
Tevik's eyes were on T'Mari has she ended the meld and spoke to him expressing her desires for them. "I confess to loving you T'Mari but did not speak of it for the fear of you finding me bold and brash and instead of bringing us closer would push you away. I have missed you a great deal. You are a part of me. You complete me. I see not only the woman I love but my soulmate." He paused for a moment. "Please forgive me if I have spoken out of turn but I wish you to also hear how I feel as well as seeing my thoughts."
“You have been honest, I appreciate that” T’Mari smiled. “I was never sure of myself where our bond was concerned, somehow it felt forced with our parents having agreed to bonding us as children. I found myself drawn to you when the burning in my veins demanded it, but it didn’t feel true. Now…” she paused looking into his eyes. “I feel it, not because of Pon’farr, but simply because I’m here with you.” She reached out her hand gently placing it on his cheek as she leaned forward ever so lightly kissing him.
"I will always be honest with you. never again will I withhold anything from you. I ask your forgiveness in doing so. I believe because we were bonded as children, it is as you stated not true. However now as adults and being here and sharing our thoughts we can see beyond the veil and see our true feelings for each other." His eyes closed as T' Mari lightly kissed him. He opened his eyes and asked. "That was most agreeable. May I in turn kiss you?"
T’Mari nodded.
Tevik leaned forward and gently kissed T'Mari not on the cheek but on her lips It seemed right considering their discussion and admitting their feelings for each other. he held the kiss for a second before leaning back. "Most enjoyable." He admitted.
“More than enjoyable” T’Mari grinned as she blushed a rosy shade of red. “So I guess this is the part where I say where do we go from here? I’ll be honest I find you fascinating, on duty and in public you’re an a-typical Vulcan yet here you’ve shown me emotion that I wasn’t expecting. I never purged my emotions, I chose not to because I’m half Betazoid and I need to feel those emotions.”
"I am pleased that you do. I find you quite fascinating as well. As for my emotions. When I am alone or with someone I am close to you like yourself. I loosen my control on my emotions. I understand my you never purged your emotions, in your role as counselor you need them to understand what your patients are feeling." Tevik confessed.
T’Mari nodded. “I rely heavily on my Betazoid senses, I wouldn’t be me without them. My father does not approve, but my mother understands. Would you like to have dinner with me tonight? I have some dishes that I think you will like, my own interpretation of a mix of Vulcan and Betazoid foods.”
"I would be honored to have dinner with you and i look forward to trying your interpretations of Vulcan and Betazoid foods. Further, your senses are a necessary tool that allow you to do your job to the best of your ability." Tevik answered.
“Counselling is a career I find highly rewarding, it can be stressful but if I can help someone back to a state of happiness, then my job has it rewards.” T’Mari paused. “As for dinner, how does 1900 hours sound?”
"It is good that you find your job rewarding. I think it makes it more fulfilling when you do. 1900 hours sounds perfectly agreeable to me." Tevik replied.
“Excellent! In that case I’ll go and let you get settled and sorted.” She smiled warmly. “I’ll see you at 1900.”
Tevik nodded, "I look forward to our dinner and further conversations. Thank you for coming to see me and more importantly for us being able to show our feelings for each other."
T’Mari nodded. “I had to know, not being sure of my own feelings I needed to know how deep your feelings for me went. Now I know and I want it very much.” She smiled as she leant in giving him another kiss. “I’ll see you later.”
"I am glad you did and now we can devout time to further our relationship. As you saw my feelings are quite strong in regard to you." He nodded, as she kissed him again. "You most definitely will." He assured her.
“I’ll look forward to it.” With that she headed for the door, finally feeling more reassured about Tevik, and their future together.
