Mission: The Finnean Crisis
Location: DS 9

Lieutenant David Moreau had been enjoying the time he spent on Earth with his younger siblings after his refresher course for Rapid Response. While he was no longer in the Rapid Response Teams, he found it refreshing and a challenge to partake in them when he had down time between assignments. With fourteen years of action, adventure and nightmares under his belt, the middle aged Security officer still found it pleasing to best officer half his age.

He was just having a drink in his quarters on Earth when the comm alerted him that he had a message. He entered his authorization and blinked when he saw that it was from Vice Admiral Z. O'Connell. Normally, his orders came from a variety of sources, but he had never had a Vice Admiral contact him directly. He opened it and read.

To: Lieutenant David Moreau Jr.
From: Starfleet Command
RE: Assignment

You are hereby ordered to seek transit to Space Station Deep Space Nine by Stardate 65834.2 (November 1, 2388). Senior officers will attend a mission briefing aboard Deep Space Nine with Vice Admiral O'Connell,

Refusal to comply with these orders will prompt intervention by the Judge Advocate General's Office. Communication of delay or request for reassignment must be sent immediately to Starfleet Command, Department of Personnel.

Signed,

Vice Admiral Z. O'Connell

"Well now," David mused out loud as he finished his drink and took it to the recycler. "Looks like Starfleet has decided to finally give me orders or give me death," he chuckled. Still, it would be a pleasure to get on a ship and head back into deep space again. He made short work of packing up and contacted his siblings and parents to let them know, then headed out of the accommodations he had while there.

It was a two week trip to Deep Space Nine and all the big Security man had was questions without answers, but he was career Starfleet and knew that if the brass wanted him to have answers, he would have answers. If they didn't want him to have answers, he didn't have answers. It was cut and dry to him and all he could do was wait until he met with this Vice Admiral on the station and see.

When he arrived, David checked his belongings, then headed to see what time the mission briefing was scheduled for and what his new post would be.
