===Deck 12 Flight Deck===

George walked around the Flight deck in his flight suit, his squadron was on stand by mode. He liked to walk the flight deck and help out the deck crew with maintenance on the various craft to keep his Engineering and Operation skills up to snuff. There were a lot of rumors going around on who was going to be the new CAG, George didn't participate in these rumors but it was interesting on who the deck gang thought was going to get it and the reason why and why not they should.

George was just about to climb up into his fighter when his combadge went off.

=/\= "Lieutenant Bridger to the Briefing Room." =/\=

Tapping his combadge =/\= Acknowledged =/\= he nodded to the deck gang and then proceeded up to the Briefing Room.

===BRIEFING ROOM===

Yeoman Carter tapped her combadge to close the channel. She stood behind the long table, close to the observation windows, while her Captain stood on the other side. Harvey's arms were crossed as he stared at the statistics and reports displayed on the viewing screen in front of him. Honestly, he was impressed by the performance of both squadrons. So impressed that he didn't expect to have to deal with a command change so soon into the Black Hawk's career.

Harvey frowned, still staring at the screen when the door chime sounded. "Come," he ordered.

George walked into the Briefing room, he could tell that the CO was not happy based off the frown that was on his face when he walked in, George wondered what he or his Squadron did to angry the CO so much. Part of him hoped this wasn't going to be a chew out session.

Emily nodded at the lieutenant when he came into the room. Knowing what was about to happen, she quietly left, leaving both officers to deal with the situation.

The captain turned to look at Bridger. He might've met the lieutenant a couple days ago in the lull before the distress calls, but Harvey had a feeling that he really didn't get the chance. Harvey hated small talk, and there was no place for it in this conversation, even if it was both an initial greeting and business related.

"Welcome aboard, lieutenant," he greeted anyway. However, as this was an initial meeting, having a calm before the main topic would help to soothe Harvey's frustration. "How's the 555th?"

"The 555th is a good Squadron, we're ready for anything that you will throw our way," he replied straight faced he started to wonder a bit why he was called up here. Was it just the COs way of making the person comfortable before launching into his attack?

Arms still crossed, Harvey looked back to the status readouts, looking for a few more bits of information to satisfy himself before continuing. "Have you been with the squadron long?"

"Not long Commander, I came aboard a few weeks ago," George replied evenly, he was starting to get the impression that he was not here to get chewed out unless the CO was trying to bait him into feeling relax before he went in on his attack run.

Harvey grunted, not quite the answer he was hoping for. "And how was it? Getting an entire squadron used to a new commander?"

"They seemed pretty open to the idea, I haven't had to many problems," he replied.

"Good," Harvey replied, cracking a half-smile. "I hope you're up for a challenge then."

"I am afraid I don't understand Commander. I thought I was already the Squadron Commander for 555th? That's what my orders were anyway," George stated confused.

"That's correct," Harvey said, dropping his arms and turning around to pick up a PADD from the table. He didn't plan to hand it to Bridger yet, but had to verify the information on it before doing so.

"A situation," Harvey began, "has arisen. I'm surprised you haven't heard about it yet with a ship of this size." Looking up from the PADD, he said, "To make a long story short, I'm in need of a new CAG. We're too far from Starfleet to await a replacement, so I'm promoting from within."

"I had heard of that Sir, I just thought with being newly to the vessel I didn't stand that good of a chance to get the job," George replied the corner of his lips moving up slightly, "I thank you for the opportunity Commander."

Harvey nodded in reply. "I know there hasn't been much chance yet for both squadrons to interact. See to it that training regimens are implemented immediately. I'm not sure what we're going to run into over the next few days, but I want to be ready."

"Aye Commander. Anything else you wish me to cover?" George asked, he was excited to get back down to the hanger deck.

Harvey shook his head. "Not at the moment. I would like to see progress reports every twenty-four hours until further notice."

"Aye Commander, if there is anything further?" he asked.

"Dismissed, lieutenant," Harvey said, handing over the PADD with the official orders.

George nodded and then exited the room with a smile he had a lot of work to do ahead of him and he was eager to get it started.
