Mission: Epilogue
Location: Transports to Gamma Command Fleet Yards
Timeline: July 2389

The Kumari had been too much, far too much. The Klingon battle had lost them enough hands, but the word that her ex was still out there looking for her after escaping Starfleet custody somehow, she just had to get away.

She’d heard that there was a need for scientists, especially with her skills, further away in the Gamma Quadrant. If she wanted to get there, she’d have to make her own way, but there would be a place for her. Figuring the Gamma Quadrant would give her a fresh start from the horrors she’d recently dealt with, her things were packed up and she was able to find a transport to at least get her part of the way there. This trip was going to take some time, but perhaps she could clear her head.

Zayna’s mind always went straight for the worst case scenario when she traveled, especially when she traveled alone. The fact that she had been engaged to someone who she thought was the love of her life and then that person completely snapped scared her. Were her choices always going to be that bad? Had he always been that way and hid it well? There was no way to know, as he’d escaped before even being questioned by anyone at Starfleet. But now he was wanted.

This had been months before, coming closer to a year. And yet, Zayna still got a shiver down her spine any time she thought about him. Luckily, the transport captain gave her some things to do to help out on the trip, and that kept her a little distracted. None of them asked anything about why she seemed distracted.

Unfortunately, the traveling didn’t help at all. She was still in just as much of a panic that she was when she heard that her ex had escaped custody. All of that on top of the memories of the Klingon battle still sitting fresh. Maybe burying herself into her work once she got there was the only thing that was going to help her.
