Mission: Extinction
Location: Security
Timeline: Mission Day 22 at 0900

After the Counselor had left the Captains Ready Room and she had savagely bitten off the responses that she had wanted to make upon learning the woman's secret, Camila had gone to Security. She tapped her combadge once as she gave a nod to her receptionist and noted the change in the location of her desk as she headed for her office.

=^=Di Pasquale to Commander Geisler. Can you meet me in Security?=^=

Joey was on her way to Intel when the call came through from Camila. She made her way to the neatest turbolift as she tapped her combadge. "On my way," she said, ending the link just before requesting deck twelve.

The journey was a short one, which she was grateful for, and now she found herself making her way into the department she was once a part of. She approached the receptionist and nodded toward Camila's office. "Commander Geisler to see Commander Di Pasquale. She asked me to meet her."

"She's expecting you, Commander," the Andorian receptionist said with a motion of her antennae towards Camila's door.

"Thank you," she said with a smile and made her way toward the office. Joey made her way inside and looked toward the Security Chief. "What can I do for you, Commander?"

"I need your area of specialization and clearance, Commander," Camila said as she gestured towards a chair. She reached down and flipped her monitor around to show Joey the personnel file for Lieutenant T’Mari Rael.

Joey opted to forgo the chair for now and looked at the personnel file in display before her. "Lieutenant, Chief Counselor, Betazoid and Vulcan, thirty years old..." she said out loud, then continued reading through the woman's record. "What am I supposed to be seeing that requires my area of specialization and clearance, Commander? Everything looks pretty standard to me." Though, the Intelligence Chief hadn't made it all the way through before asking.

"Except the part that isn't on there," the ombre haired woman said. "The part that says she's V'Shar, the Vulcan Intelligence Bureau, and Scientific Inquiry Bureau to be specific."

"Wait... what?" The taller woman asked, though she was fairly certain she'd heard Camila right.

"The V'Shar," Camila repeated. "She came clean to me and the Captain not long ago."

"She did? What possessed her to come clean?" The brunette woman asked. "And perhaps someone might be able to explain to me why the past couple of counselors the Black Hawkseems to get have secrets or are batshit crazy."

"She claimed she didn't want any secrets between us," the Security Chief said dryly. "After she had lied, successfully, to me and my tricorder when I had my interview with her. Which is why I called you. As for the last part...she's half Vulcan and half Betazoid, which means she likes her emotions, too."

"Most Betazoids do," Joey pointed out. Still... it didn't sit well that someone who just joined the crew was already lying and keeping secrets. "Thankfully, I have a counselor and have zero intentions of switching. That being said, what do you need me to do?"

"The only thing we can do," Camila said. "We need to contact the V'Shar, vet her and then put a tag on her future communications. I don't trust her and I have no plans to see any counselors."

"Tagging all incoming and outgoing communications will be easy enough, and if she's already come aboard and withheld some pretty major information, there isn't much reason to trust her," the Intelligence Chief stated. "As for the V'Shar, I'll put in a request to the Vulcan Intelligence Bureau. Hopefully, I'll get a response before the end of the day."

"Who knows how long it'll take and the farther we get from the wormhole, the longer it'll take. Let's get it started and take things as it goes. As for the good counselor, she'll discover soon that she shouldn't have lied at all."

Joey decided to leave the last part of what Camila said untouched. It sounded a bit like a threat, and she wanted no part of that. However, the secrets were another story, especially when it meant there could be potential danger for the rest of the crew. "I'll head back to Intel and get both things going. The tag should take no more than a few minutes, and it won't matter where she is on the ship when she receives or sends a message. I'll know what they say. Even if there are attempts made at encrypting them."

"Alert me as soon as you have something," Camila said. "Thank you, Joey."

"It's not a problem. I'll keep you updated, and will let you know when the Vulcan Intelligence Bureau plans to contact so that you can be present. In the meantime, you have a good day," Joey said with a nod of her head. "It looks like I've got some work to do. I'll be in touch." With that, she made her way out of Camila's office to head back to her own so she could get a couple of balls rolling.
