Since she had witnessed the brutal deaths of both Ensign Braxus and Lieutenant Reza as her away team attempted to escape from the Syndicate on Nestene IX. She had moments when she felt very anxious; others when she was hit was waves of depression. She hadn't slept well since that day, excepting when she wasn't sleeping alone. Fortunately, she wasn't sleeping alone that much anymore.

Terry Walsh was the ray of light in her life. Their coupling was a bit of a surprise to Mackenzie. She had been getting very close to Harvey and was certain that things were moving forward, closer to a more intimate relationship than they currently enjoyed. But she had enough doubt that she was scared.
