Mission:
Boarded
Location: USS Black Hawk || Ready Room
Timeline: March 1, 2388 || 1230 hours
Harvey left sickbay and quickly found one of the corridor's many access panels. He called up a senior staff manifest, knowing he'd yet to meet several of his new officers. Strangely, two of them were not yet aboard. His new Security Chief, however, was.
He tapped his combadge as he entered the turbolift. "Geisler to Lieutenant Moore. Please report to my Ready Room."
Normally, he'd wait for his senior officers to report in. The situation the Black Hawk was about to endure, however, could not allow for this to wait.
Eric hadn't been on the Black Hawk for more than a few minutes when his Com Badge went off requesting him to proceed to the Captains Ready room, he replied to the order and made his way to the nearest turbo lift if the Commanding Officer was calling him before he had a chance to report to him there was something big that was going to be happening soon.
Stepping into the turbo lift he nodded to the Lieutenant that was already in the lift, "Bridge," he said smoothly as the doors closed. He watched the Lieutenant out of the corner of his eye, he could tell that she was stealing glances at him checking him out and sizing him up. He grinned inside and sized her up himself. She was roughly five foot five inches with cherry red hair and hazel eyes, he could tell that she was a flirt by the way she flashed her eyes at him. Eric turned to her and smiled, "Eric Moore," he held out his hand to her. The doors to the Turbo lift opened and she turned to him, "Sarah," she replied walking through them.
"What no last name?" he called out to her with a grin, she turn and grinned back. She replied what her last name was but the lift doors closed cutting it off, "Damn." he said as the lift proceeded.
He was deposited onto the Bridge a few seconds later, he was already familiar with an Akira class vessel and made his way over to the Ready Room touching the button to notify that Captain that he was standing outside his office.
Harvey had been sitting at his desk long enough to transfer all of their gathered information onto a lone PADD for his new Security Chief. At the sound of the door chime, he immediately said, "Come," and looked towards the door.
Eric walked into the Ready Room when he was instructed he casually but professionally moved over to the Captains desk, "Lieutenant Eric Moore reporting as Chief Security and Tactical Officer Sir."
"Welcome aboard, Lieutenant," Harvey said, gesturing to a chair in front of the desk. "I'm Captain Harvey Geisler." He sat as well, but not before handing over the PADD to Lieutenant Moore.
"I'm holding a briefing later this afternoon for all of the senior staff where I'll go over even more of these details in few, but after what I've been through, I don't want to go back out into the field with an unprepared security chief."
"What you have been through Sir? I am sorry Captain I just arrived aboard ship and haven't been up to speed on what has been happening on the Black Hawk," Eric replied taking a seat in the chair that the Captain offered. He was intrigued and a bit worried at what the Captain was saying so far.
"For starters," Harvey said, holding both hands up beside him as if showing something off, "we're on the fringe of what the Federation has mapped in the Gamma Quadrant."
He folded his hands and placed them on the desk. "Ever since we've been here, we've seen one of our research stations robbed, several freighters attacked, poor souls in trouble, and then some." Harvey looked at Eric with a grim expression. "There's a great mystery here, and I intend to get to the root of it. I'm taking the Black Hawk in deep. I want to be prepared for anything, lieutenant, especially self-defense."
"I understand Captain," Eric replied, "What have I gotten myself into," he thought to himself for a minute, "I take it you want the usual drills Sir?" Eric knew that his Security Department and probably a lot of the ship will not like him if the Captain said yes. Eric was pretty has always been pretty hard on his Department when it came to drills and how they are done.
"Whatever is necessary to prepare this ship," Harvey sternly replied. "We're leaving orbit in just a few hours, but it'll take a couple days to get to where we are going. Hopefully, that'll be enough time."
"That will be more than enough time Captain," Eric replied noticing the sternest of his voice, "I'll make sure the Department is ready for what you want."
"I'll expect nothing less, Lieutenant." Harvey pointed at that PADD. "That contains everything I know about the Golden Stars and the Syndicate. I have a feeling we're going to be seeing them very, very soon."
Eric took the PADD from the Captain and looked at it briefly, "I understand Sir. I will read it as soon as possible," he looked back to the Captain, "Anything else Sir?" he asked.
"For the moment, no," Harvey replied. "I'll leave you to get to it. Welcome aboard, Lieutenant."
