Mission: Crossing Over
Location: Various
Timeline: MD35 || 1010 hours

The doors to the Ready Room closed behind him, leaving Harvey alone on the bridge with the silent observer. Thankfully, the observer didn’t notice him immediately, and was instead focused on the rear station which proudly displayed a cutaway of the large ship. Harvey knew his time was limited. In fact, a read of the chronometer informed that nearly twenty minutes remained before the ship had to be evacuated.

That did not leave much time. Harvey’s goal now was to save the ship and the crew. It had to be quiet, at least in the beginning. The silent ones could project emotion, which made Harvey suspect that they could sense it as well. With no one around to aid him, Harvey did the most simple thing he could think of: Isolate himself and get moving.

Harvey slipped into the turbo lift, leaving the observer alone on the bridge. “Take me to Engineering,” Harvey spoke into the computer, and the turbo lift began to move. “Computer, how can I contact any of the senior staff?”

Beeping and whirring first in its reply, the computer followed with, “Any standard comm panel within the ship may be utilized to contact members of the crew or open a ship wide channel. All Starfleet personnel are also equipped with a communicator badge, which can be activated with a simple tap.”

Harvey looked down to his chest to see such a badge affixed on his chest. There was so much to do, and he didn’t know how to do to any of it. All he knew is that none of the crew could be allowed to leave the ship, nor could he allow the ship to be wrestled from them.

He tapped the badge and said, “Harvey to Thiago Teixeira, Camila Di Pasquale, and Jayla Kij.”

"Di Pasquale here," came the Chief of Security's voice.

“Kij here, sir,” replied Jayla, unsure why “sir” seemed like a natural response.

It took him a second to recognize what was supposedly his name. "Sim?" he replied. He closed his eyes hearing the word. He recognized it as not being the proper language. "I mean, yes?" Teixeira followed up.

“Change of plans, everyone. No one’s getting off this ship. I doubt we can do it without upsetting our visitors. I need ideas.”

"I'm still searching for the missing crew, Captain," Camila came back. "The computer told me that there's a holding facility here called a brig. Do you want me to round them up?"

He admired the security officer's spirit. "Do we know that this 'brig' can contain them?"

"I'm not even sure what a brig is," Camila admitted. "But it's where prisoners are kept according to the computer."

“I found the Emergency Medical Hologram,” Jayla reported. “Well, Abbey did. She’s another doctor. He’s got some ideas for restoring our memories, but since we don’t know how we lost them, he’s not sure what to try. Should I put that on hold for now?” Perhaps it would be better to have their memories, but it didn’t seem like they had the time for that at the moment.

Harvey would have time later to ask what an emergency hologram was. "We need those memories, otherwise, we're not going to have any luck. How long does the doctor need?"

"Um..." said Jayla. She looked at the EMH. "Any idea how long it'll take?"

"The simplest process requires only a three to five minutes, but that's assuming it works," he replied. "The longest process is two hours. It really would help if we knew the method of memory loss."

"Anywhere from three minutes to two hours," Jayla relayed.

Harvey winced in the moving turbolift. "We have less than twenty minutes, based on the half hour they gave us. We can't risk starting to restore memories, but maybe we can give the hologram a few people to start testing."

Several of the medical staff had already volunteered for testing, so that was easy. "Okay," replied Jayla. "We'll try the shorter treatments first."

"Camila," Harvey said next, "these guys are going to know in twenty minutes or less that we're not going to cooperate. We need to arm the crew, and we may need to defend the ship. Find out how we can do that."

Camila made an inquiry as to where the weapons were stored and was told the armory, but when she made it to the location, she discovered that once again, she was being asked for her authorization codes. She gave a frustrated sigh and responded to the Captain. "I keep being asked for authorization codes, Harvey," she said. "Do you know what they are?"

Harvey shook his head, and only then he realized that if he couldn't see the Chief of Security, then she certainly couldn't see him. "I don't have a clue. But, there was a locker on the bridge that was easy enough to open, and it had weapons and medical supplies in it. Perhaps there's a few of those around the ship you can open until we get our memories back."

"Understood," Camila responded before she pulled up a map of the ship at a console with the computers help. She saw that there were several weapons lockers near Security and went to find them. A simple black panel was on it and she pressed her hand to it and it glowed for a moment, then the locker opened. She smiled when she saw more of the silver banana shaped things she learned were called phasers and some longer ones of a different type. She gathered as many as she could carry and headed back to Security, making two trips before she began to pass them out to personnel with instructions on how to use them with more aid from the computer. "Remember, don't go past the third setting," she told them. "That tends to kill them and we need them alive."

With that, she grabbed several containers on a floating cart and headed to gather more weapons from around the ship so she could distribute them to the crew.

"Thiago, I need some options here. Have they taken any crew off the ship yet?"

"Of this I am certain, yes Captain," he reported. "It is difficult to know where they have gone though."

Harvey cursed under his breath. Having people off the ship made this more complicated, but they couldn't just give up. "Let's find out what these visitors came in. It's possible they've never dealt with anything of this size. We've got manpower, but they've got knowledge. Let's find out if we can use our size against them."

"I've been able to achieve some rudimentary access to the computer," Thiago stated, recalling his earlier success. "Nothing that will allow us access to the armory, unfortunately. Perhaps, with my foot in the door, I can work my way into the system deeper. Who knows what that will yield."

"Dig as far as you can," Harvey said. "Let me know the moment you find anything of use." Harvey could feel the turbolift come to a stop. "All right everyone, the clock is ticking. Let's figure out how this ship works, how to keep it in our hands, and how to get our people back."
